Just like that! It is a new school year. We really hope your summer was filled with lots of fun and quality time with your families. We have been super busy planning the forthcoming school year and just can’t wait to get started. Please make a note of the following term and event dates for this term. Full event details will follow soon.
We are so excited to be returning to the Towngate Theatre in March 2022 for our Annual Show. We are in the final stages of preparing our show packs and this will be sent to all parents in the next couple of weeks.
Term and Payment Dates
Spring Term begins: Saturday 4th September (all fees must be paid by this date)
Half Term week: Sunday 24th October till Sunday 31st October
Term Finishes: Saturday 18th December

Direct Debits
We are very excited to announce that we are now able to offer you a direct debit payment plan to pay your child’s class fees. At the present time a few customers have already signed up to trial this for us. However, the intention is to move over to direct debits fully once we are satisfied that the trial has been a success.
We are aware invoice amounts can be a bit of shock if there happen to be more weeks in a particular half-term and the Autumn 1st Half-term is no exception as it will be an eight week half-term.
The benefits to the direct debit method are that fees are calculated based on 38 weeks of classes and then divided into 12 equal monthly payments which will be taken directly from your bank account on the 1st of each month over a 12 month period.
It will save you time as you will no longer need to pay manually each time as your payments will be taken automatically each time they are due. For your peace of mind, note that you are fully protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee.
DTA Performance Teams:
I am thrilled to announce that we be opening our performance team classes again from September. These were originally called the Company classes. The purpose of these sessions is to offer students additional performance opportunities throughout the year. These include performances within the community, in Theatres both locally and in London as well as my personal dream and goal to get the teams to perform at Disney in the future. They will also be performing additional numbers in the Annual School Show including the opening number. In class we will be working on improving technique and performance skills. These sessions are open to students from school year 3 upwards. Entry is by invite or audition only. Miss Charlotte will be selecting some children to join the current teams over the next week. However if this is something you think your child would be interested in please contact Miss Charlotte to discuss. We are passionate about supporting all abilities and giving opportunities to all those who show passion and work hard.
New Branch opening September 2021 - Harold Hill
WE ARE EXPANDING! DTA Academy will be extending our classes to a new area in addition to our Hornchurch branch. I am always looking for opportunities to offer our classes and spread the joy within the community and am excited to see where this new opportunity takes us.
Street Dance and Musical Theatre after School Programme
I am so excited to announce that we have now added new Street Dance sessions to our after school programme. Musical Theatre and Street Dance are complimentary subjects and are perfect for helping our students build self confidence and self believe as well as burning lots of energy and having lots of fun. Classes are available to all students 3 years and above. Please contact Miss Charlotte to find out our timetable. Monday sessions are held at Ardleigh House, Hornchurch, and Tuesday sessions are held at Mead Primary School, Harold Hill.
Introducing New Team Members
I am so pleased to welcome two new team members in September. Both highly qualified in their fields and full of fresh new ideas and enthusiasm. Miss Karyn will be teaching our Mini Bopz and Street Dance sessions on a Monday and Tuesday. Miss Chantelle will be teaching Ballet, Tap and Modern Jazz & Acro on a Saturday. Please join me in welcoming them to our DTA family.
As always we have an open door policy within the school meaning if you feel you would like additional feedback about your child’s progress or if you need any support or advise please come and speak to Miss Charlotte or a member of the team. We are always happy to help our DTA Academy families however we can.
