Charlotte Thompson AISTD, DDE
Charlotte trained professionally at the Urdang Academy, Covent Garden, London graduating with a Diploma in Professional Dance & Musical Theatre and the ISTD Teaching qualifications. She was also the overall winner in the college's annual choreographic competition. As a performer Charlotte worked in hotels abroad and on board Princess Cruise ships performing to audiences of all ages. On her return to the UK Charlotte pursued her teaching career and is very passionate about passing her wealth of experience onto her students. Charlotte Dance Theatre Arts Academy in September 2009.
Tap, Modern & Acro Teacher
Miss Jess started dancing at the age of 3. She attended Nicola’s School of Dance in Woodford Green, London. Later on she also attended Stagecoach, Chigwell. Miss Jess is a fully trained dance teacher gaining her DDI with ISTD as well as holding qualifications in acro dance with the Acrobatic Arts. The pure enjoyment she has for dance has given her opportunities to perform in numerous shows at Her Majesty's Theatre, London and at Sadlers Wells in Mardi Gras. She has also performed at Disneyland Paris.
Jessica has several years of teaching experience working in various dance schools in the local area.
Ballet, Tap & Modern Jazz Teacher
Chantelle trained at The Centre Pac for 3 years completing a diploma in Theatre Performance she is a qualified DDE teacher in Ballet,Tap and Modern. Over the past 6 years, she worked onboard cruise ships gaining experience as a Dance Captain, Choreographer, and Swing. In between contracts Chantelle performed in First Family Pantomimes and has taken part in various gigs across the UK, whilst always pursuing her passion for teaching and developing the next generation of performers.
Ileana started her musical studies on piano at the age of ten. She studied classical singing with the late Canadian soprano Marguerite Lavergne and contemporary singing at St Louis College of Music. She completed her vocal studies at Licinio Refice Music Conservatory (Italy), where she graduated in Jazz.
Beginning her career in ’97 as a piano bar singer, Ileana has worked in theatres, sessions and uncountable gigs, performing alongside many leading musicians on the Rome and London scene.
Ileana has been passionately teaching singing since 2005. She recently gained a distinction for her Postgraduate Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy.
Street Dance & Musical Theatre Teacher
Miss Karyn started her dance journey at a very young age and as a young child was selected to perform with The European Ballet Company in two separate ballet productions – Cinderella and Coppelia.
Miss Karyn trained professionally at the London Studio Centre University based in London where she graduated with a BA Honours Degree in Jazz Theatre Dance.
Miss Karyn is passionate about performing and teaching Commercial/Street and Hip-Hop and is determined to pass on her knowledge and experience to young and developing performers. She is thrilled to be teaching with us at DTA Academy.
Ballet, Tap & Modern Teacher
Jodie started dancing at the age of 3 at the Laura Faulkner school in Romford Essex. She furthered her dance training gaining a BTEC national diploma in performing arts and A level dance in her local area. Realising that she favoured a career in teaching Jodie qualified as a B.A.T.D teacher in 2003. She now has over 10 years of teaching experience working at local schools in the Gidea Park/Romford area. She is delighted to be teaching at the Dance Theatre Arts Academy.
Miss Robyn started dancing at the age of 2 yrs. She trained at Dance Theatre Arts Academy and was one of the first students when it opened its doors. Miss Robyn is passionate about dance and loves helping the children to gain confidence and enjoyment from their dance lessons.
