Pre-School Classes

Classes for younger students follow the Melody Movement® Early Learning syllabi which are centred around a dancing teddy called Melody Bear® and her friend Milligan Bear®. Children follow their adventures through the use of stories, mime and props which are designed to capture the children's imagination and develop their coordination, spatial awareness, self-expression and creativity working individually, with a partner, or as a group. All pupils are encouraged to bring their own soft toy to class.  The non-competitive Melody Bear Award Schemes encourage a sense of achievement and make learning fun.

DTA Tiny Dancers

ages 2-3 years

Our DTA Tiny Dancer classes are parent & toddler classes especially designed for those tots who love to dance.  Each week there is a theme of the week such as "We are going to a Magical Kingdom with Melody Bear" or "Melody Bear wants to go to the Zoo".  With the help of their parent/carer the children dance their way through the adventures and enjoy twirling around with props and singing songs and nursery rhymes.

Our DTA Mini Dancer classes are ballet and tap combination classes.  Children continue to follow the Adventures of Melody Bear developing their dance moves as well as introducing other fundamental curriculum learning skills such as counting, colour and shape recognition, vocabulary and language skills.  Children also collect stickers and work towards gaining medals, badges or rosettes which are presented in front of parents on the child's 'Special Day'.  Parents wait outside the studio.
